Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions:

What ages of children can attend The World School?

Our plan is to provide a multi-age school for kids from preschool through high-school aged.  Currently we have enrolled students from ages 4-16.  Your child must be potty-trained to attend The World School.

Where are your locations?

Our Spring Session 2020 will be in the Dominican Republic.  Our Summer 2020 Session will be in Spain. Other sessions will be posted as they are confirmed.

How much is tuition?

Tuition varies according to location and term, but tuition starts as low as $300 USD/ month.

Is housing included?

We typically offer estimates for local housing prices for budgeting purposes, but housing is the responsibility of each family and is not included.  For the Spain Session we do offer on-site housing, each housing option is priced separately.

Do you offer assistance with housing for traveling families?

Yes - we will provide some suggested rental locations and a local realtor or other contact to help you locate housing.  For our Spain Session we do offer options for on-site housing as well.

I'm thinking of applying as a teacher, can my family travel with me?

Of course!  We are created for traveling families and all families are welcome!

Do you offer a sibling/family discount?

At this time we cannot offer a sibling discount.

What is your curriculum?

We are a democratic-inspired school and so our curriculum is determined by the students.  If you are looking for a traditional school, where students have homework, assignments, and tests, then we are not the school for you 🙂

What are your teachers qualifications?

Our lead teacher is a certified teacher in Canada and all of our teachers are Certified Forest School teachers.  Our teachers have criminal record checks and CPR/First Aid Certifications.

Can I attend for a partial session, or just 2 weeks or one month?

For our Spring and Summer sessions, the tuition is set per session.  Families are free to arrive late, leave early, or take vacation days as they wish, and attendance is not mandatory.  Tuition remains the same as if the family attended the entire session.  We do give priority to families who plan to attend the majority of the session.

What is included?

Tuition varies according to location and term, but the tuition cost only includes tuition.  Any planned excursions will be proposed by the students, agreed upon by the families, and paid separately.

Are deposits refundable?

No.  Tuition and housing deposits are not refundable.  You may transfer your payment and/or housing assignment to another family that is accepted into The World School.
